Sparks Fly! Superintendent Mark Daniel Trades His Tie for a Torch

Our district superintendent stepped into the weld shop for the first time, suiting up in protective gear and getting a hands-on introduction to the welding process alongside our talented students at Local 166. He experienced what it takes to work with metal, practiced the fundamentals and saw firsthand the skill, focus and craftsmanship our students demonstrate every day. It was an inspiring visit led by our own future welders!

Botanical Garden Window Cling Challenge

Graphic design interns Brayla Miller, Pou Nge and Diomar Soto have spent the month transforming the Botanical Garden windows with an Adobe Illustrator design that brings this year’s winter theme to life as the conservatory prepares for the holiday season. Students were challenged to create a window cling inspired by the children’s book being featured this month, Fern’s Fairylight Express.

Windows to Work Contest - Grow Allen

Diomar Soto, a first-year graphic design student in Karen Gillie’s program, has won the Grow Allen Countywide Contest for his animated graphic design. He earned a $500 prize for his work and enjoyed a special celebratory day with the team at One Lucky Guitar.

State Winners - Below the Hook Contest

The new Civil Construction/Heavy Equipment CTE program competed for the first time this October at the Indiana State Rigging Competition in Indianapolis and made an incredible debut! Our team of five civil construction students brought home first place in this highly competitive event. A huge thank you to Brooks Construction for sponsoring our team and to their teacher, Matt Moore, for guiding and developing their skills. We couldn’t be more proud of this outstanding group!
