HEALTH SCIENCES
Health care is one of the fastest growing industries with over 18 million employees needed to staff the healthcare sector. Our programs offer students the opportunity to explore both the area of dental and health care. Students will develop both their academic and professional skills such as infection control and patient care in our lab setting.

* Please Note: Each of the above programs marked with * are a year-long and meets Next Level Programs of Study requirements. There is an opportunity for a second year, capstone course within each program as well.
COLLEGE CREDIT & CERTIFICATIONS
Students have the opportunity to earn college credits through Ivy Tech and industry certifications like OHSA Healthcare, CPR, First Aid, and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
WHAT TO EXPECT
CNA
State certified program for students interested in an entry-level position at a long-term care facility or hospital setting. You complete a minimum of 30 classroom hours and 75 clinical hours to be eligible for State CNA certification. Direct patient care skills with the elderly, medical terminology, ethics and anatomy/physiology are included.
Central Service Tech
Students in this program will learn about patient care nursing, dental care, animal care, medical laboratory, public health, and medical terminology. Also, students will learn about central service and how about surgical instruments and environmental control for a central service department.
Dental Assisting
Explore the careers of dental assisting, hygiene, and dental laboratory. Our simulated dental office allows hands-on opportunities as you become proficient with infection control procedures, dental and medical terminology and dental instrumentation.
Medical Assisting
Through this program, students will learn about patient care, medical laboratory, and public health. Focus will be on medical assisting duties, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and health care systems. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a practicum at a qualified clinical site.
